For the fifth year in row, Legacy.com is matching dollar-for-dollar the first $22,500 in donations
The Funeral Service Foundation is launching a matching gift campaign backed by the generosity of Legacy.com. For the fifth year in row, the longtime supporter is matching dollar-for-dollar the first $22,500 in contributions to help raise $45,000 in honor of the Foundation’s founding year, 1945.
“Since Legacy launched our matching gift initiative in 2016, we’ve seen thousands of funeral professionals dig deeper and step up their commitment for the Funeral Service Foundation,” said John Heald, senior vice president-channel development of Legacy.com. “I’m honored and proud to continue the tradition this year. Get ready to get giving to this tremendous organization that does so much to support our partners in funeral service!”
Since 2016, Legacy.com has helped the Foundation raise a quarter of a million dollars in matching gifts alone that support impactful work in the funeral service profession. Gifts to the Foundation support academic and professional development scholarships and opportunities, help create community-building and professional grief resources, and fund grants to mission-aligned non-profit organizations.
“Whether it’s investing in people and programs to strengthen funeral service or offering resources and grants to lift up grieving communities, everything the Foundation does is made possible by our generous donors,” said Funeral Service Foundation Executive Director, Lee Wiensch, CFRE. “We’re grateful to Legacy.com for investing in the Foundation in a way that encourages others to deepen their support.”
“Legacy has become a regular supporter of the Funeral Service Foundation, and it feels great. We love its mission and feel fortunate that we can continue contributing to its success,” said Legacy.com CEO Stopher Bartol.
Donations made to the Foundation before the end of the year are eligible for matching, including contributions by mail, online and over the phone. Donors are encouraged to make gifts online using the Foundation’s updated giving platform. “We’re grateful for gifts at every level, and we’re happy to offer our donors a more efficient and interactive giving experience,” said Wiensch.
